


Los conductores de aleación de aluminio (AAAC) se pueden utilizar en líneas de transmisión de media, alta y extraalta tensión.
El AAAC ofrece un mejor rendimiento de la flecha gracias a la alta relación resistencia-peso que proporciona la aleación de aluminio.
Además, el aluminio del conductor AAAC proporciona una mayor resistencia a la corrosión que los conductores ACSR.

Los AAAC se utilizan como cable conductor desnudo en circuitos aéreos que requieren mayor resistencia mecánica que los AAC y mejor resistencia a la corrosión que los ACSR. Las características de flecha y la relación resistencia-peso del cable conductor AAAC son mejores que las de los AAC y los ACSR. La construcción de 7 y 19 hilos es adecuada para la reticulación aérea desnuda de tramos medianos, normalmente a baja y media tensión. La construcción de 37 y 61 hilos es adecuada para líneas de transmisión y subtransmisión, donde una construcción homogénea puede reducir las pérdidas de línea y mejorar la resistencia a la corrosión en conductores con una resistencia similar a la de los ACSR.
